Julia Creuheras
Sculpture
Julia Creuheras (Barcelona, 1995) has developed an artistic practice that combines kinetic sculpture, installation, and textiles, proposing artifacts that evoke both ritual objects and everyday mechanisms overwhelmed by mystery. Her works function as poetic machines that reveal the invisible forces shaping the ordinary, proposing an experience of circular, rhythmic, and suspended time.
BIOGRAPHY
Julia Creuheras' work manifests through kinetic artifacts that evoke mysterious relics filled with uncertainty. These machines reveal the hidden forces that move everyday life, attempting to wrap time in repetitive cycles, like a “tick-tock-heel.”
Her artistic research draws inspiration from quantum mechanics and string theory, using fabrics and garments as metaphors for an intertwined and vibrant reality, weaving a dreamlike body shaped by the nostalgia of pop culture.
As she wanders through Barcelona, she observes invisible gears and repetitive movements that form the city’s great machine—unseen forces that shape matter and meaning, much like gravity. In her machines, these mechanisms remain hidden, barely perceptible, reminding us that behind every bit of magic, there’s always a trick and multiple meanings that bring them to life in the world.
